Does Digital Image Printing have quantity restrictions?
No, you can print one sheet - or thousands. You are able to print
exactly the quantity you need whenever you need them. Digital Image
Printing offers true print-on-demand convenience to save you time
and enables you to respond faster to market opportunities.
Is Digital Image Printing more cost-effective than offset printing?
The "warehouse" operation of the offset printing is becoming less
cost-effective for products with shorter life cycles. Often, the
waste alone drives the cost of an offset job higher than a job that
is printed real time and in smaller quantities, but at a higher
price per piece. Some companies, especially in the technology sectors,
can experience up to 60% obsolescence when using standard volume
methods. With our proven response rate, it ultimately proves to
be a more cost-effective method. Why should you pay for printed
pieces you don't use?
What kind of paper stock can be used with Digital Image Printing?
ALKO provides four common stocks in matte and gloss of various weights
to meet most of your material requirements. We can print posters
up to 18" wide and as long as you need. ALKO can also provide you
with crack-and-peel labels of any size up to 18.00" wide, and still
provide the flexibility of 1 unit to many. ALKO provides all binding,
cutting and laminating options used throughout the industry.
Is there a limit to customization with Digital Image Printing?
No, customization of your content is infinite. Everything that is
printed on a single piece can be a variable; text, headline, images,
background, layout, etc. The paper that they're printed on is the
only thing that's not a variable.
How many different versions can be printed in a single run?
An infinite number of variations can be printed in a single run.
With text, images, backgrounds, layouts, and headlines all combined
on the digital press; each piece can be completely different from
the previous one and the one following. Customization of your content
is infinite; everything that is printed on a single piece can be
a variable.
How about film and plate costs?
There are no film and plate costs in Digital Image Printing.
The documents are created on a computer and they are transmitted
directly to the press. This method saves time and money because
changes or modifications on a printed piece can be made at any time
without costly film and plates.
How do I prepare variable information?
The most common way to prepare and send variables is using an
Excel data sheet. When using various images and photos, just contact
your ALKO representative to ensure proper formatting. We have a
full design team ready for those who lack resources or need extra
assistance.
